Glory Days documents the early history and origins of stock car racing in the Duluth-Superior area. The book has 384 full-color pages in a durable 11 x 8.5 soft-cover format. Glory Days is a journal of the racing activity, both on the track and off, week-by-week, month-by-month, year-by-year. It identifies hundreds of drivers who competed at tracks in Proctor, Duluth, Superior, Cloquet and Iron River and describes the details of their racing experiences. More than 800 vintage photos show race drivers, racecars and race action. Glory Days reports accomplishments and setbacks that are the history of racing in the Twin Ports and includes recent comments from individuals with first-hand knowledge of the events and people described in the book. Glory Days tells the story of a simpler time, when average people driving hand-built racecars transformed themselves into neighborhood celebrities at the wave of a green flag. These drivers established the foundation of home-grown excitement upon which Twin Ports stock car racing has been built.
